OhioMeansJobs Muskingum County is proud to support employers and workers through Ohio’s TechCred program—a powerful tool that helps businesses invest in their employees by covering the cost of technology-focused training and credentials.
TechCred reimburses employers who help their current or prospective employees earn short-term, industry-recognized credentials that prepare them for in-demand jobs. These credentials can be earned online or in-person, and many programs can be completed in less than a year.
How TechCred Works:
- Employers identify the credentials they need and apply during one of the program’s open application periods
- If approved, the employer pays for the training up front
- Once the employee successfully completes the training, the employer is reimbursed—up to $2,000 per credential, and up to $30,000 per funding round
Eligible Training Areas Include:
- Cybersecurity
- Manufacturing technology
- Software development
- Robotics and automation
- IT support and networking
- Cloud computing
- And many more tech-related fields
Both full-time and part-time W-2 employees are eligible, including new hires and incumbent workers. Employers of all sizes and industries are encouraged to apply, and credentials must be listed on the state-approved TechCred Credential List to qualify for reimbursement.
